I have a bar chart where I am plotting regional variations of rates in the country but I want the national average to be plotted as a horizontal line across the bar chart.

I don't want to convert the whole bar chart to a line graph, I would like a horizontal line showing the national average at a constant level across the bar chart, so you can clearly see what is above and what is below the national average

How would I do this, can you do it?

Simplest way would be to add another range that is the average for all your values. This will be the same across your range. Plot it and change it's chart type to Line.
