When I start Palm Desktop, I have to cancel on updating software 12 times before the Palm Desktop software actually comes up.

Palm Desktop 4.1.2 running on Windows 2000. When I start the Palm Desktop software I get an error message saying that it needs to update software, gives me a dialog box asking for the .msi file, and shows a display box which is supposed to give the path to the directory where the software was installed from. Instead it shows the number '1'.

I downloaded the newest version of Palm Desktop for my Palm T3 (4.1.4). When I unzipped it, I got a setup file, no .msi file. I tried to uninstall Palm Desktop from the control panel add/remove programs - it wouldn't let me, saying it needed to access the software .msi file before it would uninstall.

How do I go forward so I can fix this? Is there someplace I can get a copy of 4.1.2 that I can extract to a .msi installer?
