Hi all,

Yeah, sounds pretty stupid, but it wasnt directly my fault.
I installed redhat over my previouse installation of red hat, and lo- and behold, it asked my the usual questions, EXCLUDING what i wanted to install, and if i wanted to create a boot partition, and decided it knew what i wanted, and put it in for me.
So now, i'm left without my windows loader. I'm sure formatting everything from new would be a good idea, but it's a work PC, and i almost like my job.
ok, so anyone any ideas? how can i boot back into windows?

                  T.I.A.

                  -- Karl.
Karl Butterworth
karl_butterworth@ordina.co.uk

I'm slim shadey, yes i'm the real shadey, all you other slim shadeys are just imitating; so wont the real slim shadey please stand up, please stand up, please stand up!

Glad to hear you solved the problem. :) What did you have to do? I suspect that booting from a Windows boot floppy and then running "fdisk /mbr" did the trick... Was this what you did? Or did you edit the "/etc/lilo.conf" file under Linux to specify the Windows parition?

--
Please confirm or deny the above solution (AndyBo). Thanks

fdisk /mbr worked for me when I zapped my master boot record with LILO
Mike
michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com
<a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site
"fdisk /mbr", then reboot using your Linux boot floppy (there's usually an option (rescue) to boot from hard disk on modern boot or installation floppies), then re-run "lilo". This has always worked for me. This assumes that your /etc/lilo.conf file is OK...

--
