I can't print

Hi all,


When i try to print a text file, I didn't get any error message, but when I check the printer, I don't see my printout. The printer is already install successfully on my linux box. Here is how i print a text file:

syntax: lpr -Pprintername filename
lpr -Plarry testing

Than I check the status of printer larry:

$lpq -Plarry #check the status of print queue

Printer: larry@hep (dest larry@hep.devsrv.poly.com) 'larry 1up printer' (bounce to raw@larry.devo.poly.com)
Queue: 3 printable jobs
Server: no server active
Status: server finished at 17:43:23

hi,

do u have the lpd active... check the ps -aux o/p

I login as root
I did try to restart the lpd daemon like:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/lpd restart

Than I can only print at root but I CAN'T print on the user side.
