I'm working on a large file in PS 4, and I can't access the following filter menus: Artistic, Brushstrokes, sketch, texture and video.

My file is quite large (450 MB), and I could access these filter menus when I was working on a lo-res version of the same image.

Does Photoshop prvent you from selecting certain menus when a file is exceptionally large?

Does anyone know why this is happening?

OK, it seems to be that you just cant access tho filters in CMYK, wheras they can be accessed in RGB.

Nontheless this is a pain. Is there some way aournd this, so I can utilise those filters in CMYK mode?

Thanks.

you can switch via image> mode to rgb, apply your filters, then switch back...

Yeah, but that technique flattens the image, which I don't want to do at this point.

ah.. didn't realize that. do you need to apply it to the whole image? can you copy one (or several merged) layers to a new file and apply the filters then copy the merged result back? maybe blending it somehow?

Yeah, that's the conclusion I've come too as well.

Pity there is not a faster way of doing it.
