What happened, guys? Was I deleted or were you guys hacked by the Chinese?

My user name "Dennis Kean" does not respond and it will not let me in. Can anyone help?

I have added a new user name, but now I no longer have access to the former posts on my questions with you guys?

Dennis

Sorry to hear that, Dennis. As far as I know, there is no published support address or phone number for Tek Tips. But if you go to the parent company, engineering.com, you will see that it has a contact page with an email address.

I hope you get it sorted.

Mike

You guys" surely not. But okay. And the site wasn't down for a long time, too. What helped me get able to log in again when the cookie scheme was changed and log in by LinkedIn was added was to get rid of all cookies related to tek-tips, but that also happened a long time ago. No idea why this would get you now, you were already here a short time ago.

Bye, Olaf.

A site search for Kean returns a username dkean4 with a signature tag of Dennis Kean. Not you?

Yeah! That is me, Mark Sweetland, but when I ask for a forgotten password, it tells me that it sent it, it does not send it! Good to know that I still exist!

To all who posted me... The Email finally arrived after a few hours! I am back. I started suffocating, thinking that I lost all the great answers you guys supplied... Thank you for the swift replies to all!

By the way, the search allows you to find posts by user name (Handle). The only missing part would be accessing whatever you picked to go into your archive knowledge base.
But there you go, welcome back.

Bye, Olaf.

Thank you Olaf. That is good to hear. As always you supply relevant solutions! So appreciated...

Olaf,
The search with my Name in the Handle results in 0 results. However with my name in the Keyword, gave results.
I have always puzzled what the programmer was supposed to be looking for in the Handle(s) text box.
Regards,
Koen

Since you have a space in your name you can search for it enclosed in double quotes: "Koen Piller" in the Handle with no further search parameter gives 347 results.
It was announced this works roundabout in the same time this was almost becoming a forum rule to have clear names.

Looking into your profile you have 47 threads started and 653 replies. So I guess the number 347 is a) not only counting the threads you started, and b) counts threads you participated only once. Which makes it a plausible result.

So it works.

Bye, Olaf.

Ah, so that's how you find everything with your name in it!

Thanks, guys! Good trick...
