I Cannoect fine, i just need to move crap to the server now but i can't, i don't want to use passwords or user stuff, i only have two computers on this net, and securtity isn't even a risk, (dial up still) so does anyone know what to do about it, i tried adding "writable = yes" but that still didn't help, anything i can't do to the conf file would be the esiast for me thanks

Chances are you don't have permission to write to that directory to due the OS, not samba. Check the owner and permissions of the directory that you're trying to write to.

i'm using WINME (DON"T LAUGH) and XP
Also i'm missing the smbadduser thing thats why i want toget around making seperate acounts
i don't think its the os it has the same issue on me and xp

once you mount them to your win os system, why don't you try to uncheck the read-only check box.

on on linux: chmod 777 //folder_name

thanks for the help the chmod 777... worked that helps get around a lot of problems thanks
