I can access share by IP but not by name...please help!

Hi All,

Have any of you ran into this problem? Here is the situation:

I could ping server "A" using both name and ip address.
I can access shares on server "A" via ip address by putting \\10.1.1.198 in run command. However, I can't access it via name at all. I configured TCP/IP settings with two DNS servers and 2 WINS servers. This same information is used for other servers and I have no problem whatever. I'm having problem with this one and below is the error message when I tried to access it.

\\ServerA is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have permissions.

Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect.
*******************

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like a security/permissions issue with AD.

First, a little more info. What are the OS's? Is this a first time issue, or did it work before and stop working? Have you checked for error messages? Thanks and good luck.

I have windows 2000 server. This is first time issue, it was working fine before and it just stopped.
