I-ATA Line Recieves but always busy on Send?

I have a Norstar CICS system with FLASH. I set up DN 237 for my fax machine and have no problems recieving faxes but anytime I try to send it always says that the line is busy no matter who its to or when. DN 237 is set up with Line002 as the prime line and it does indeed receive faxes on that line. Please help me, I can not figure out what is causing it to not dial out correctly.

did you tell the fax machine to dial 9 pause first then dial the rest of the number?

put your butt set on the IATA port and monitor a call out, see where the call is locking up.

try making a call from athe ATA without the fax machine hooked up.

Do you have line 2 set to appear and ring at DN 237?

Another trick I was shown so that the customer does not have to dial 9, Assign a Hotline. It will access a line without dialing an access code. Program Hotline, External, Line to use. NOTE: The Norstar is expecting to see a number to call via the Hotline. If no entry is made, the programming will not be saved. If you are not programming a number on the Hotline, you MUST programme a Pause, Feature 78, as the Telephone Number.

We have no outdial number. I need to find a POTS phone to test the line as all I have are ISDN sets. Thanks for the help guys I will post back here with the results from testing the line

And yes, DN 237 is set with Line002 to appear and ring, and also with Line002 as the prime line

show set 237
go to
Line pool access
line pool A change to y=yes
go to
Capabilitys
show
Hot Line
change to External
dial Feature 78
hit next should show
Use Prime Line
if it does you are ready to go.

I should have mentioned you wont need to dial a 9 (out dial no.) and the call(fax) will go out on any line not in use begining at the bottom (004) and going up.
Leave your ringing set as you have it(002 ring on 237).

I did everything that you said but how/when do I dial feature 78? I was only able to put it in as the extrnl# and then it made a watch symbol

The watch symbol is for a pause, your doing it correctly.
