I am using the wizard version of Find Record on a Command Button. It opens the screen and allows it to find a record.
But the screen does not close. I am not stuck or all that happy with the wizard created screen on the Find Record button if there is another way. I just need it to find a record by a certain field in this form.

Hi :) Simplest way is to create a Find Macro. Your macro wll have following actions and arguments. You'll be needing to place a button (to run macro) and a unbound text box on ur form (to enter the name or number to search). Attach macro with following actions behind button

1. GotoControl
Control Name: [MyID]

2. FindRecord
Find What: =[TxtSearch] 'Where TxtSearch is the name of unbound control in ur form to enter any number n find it.
Match: Whole filed 'also use part of field
Match Case: No
Search: Down
leave other arguments as default

3. GotoControl
Control Name: wrire the name of control where u want ur cursor to go after that.
