I am trying to edit relationships in five tables. I had Volunteer ID# which the field size is 7 and I needed to now make the field size 10. When I go to put in the field size it is telling me that "you can't change the data type or field size of this field; it is part of one or more relationships.
I have deleted the relationships, saved it and put the relationships back in and it still will not let me make the change to the field size.
Any help??? Thanks.

Hello Debe

Remove all relationship links to the problem field then make the changes to the field length - is the Volunteer Id a text field (presumably with a length of 7 or 10) in all tables.

Are there any queries where the relationship remains?

Is it a primary key in the main table; is it indexed in the tables where it is a foreign key and are all entries filled (i.e. no null entries).
