I have a customer that is requesting to delete the AC2 number, and I'm unable to determine how to do this. Load 86 ESN block only allows me to change the AC2 to another number. So x before or after the number doesn't work. When I print a summary in LD 90 there is no SDR tables listed or translation codes listed.

Any suggestions

As far as I know, it cannot be taken out. Only changed. That was one of the warnings in the BARS/NARS class I took. That was a few years ago, not sure if it has changed.

May I ask why the costemer wants it removed?

You could make it a 4 digit number instead of a 1 digit number and be able to reclaim the other 999 numbers to use for something ese.

If there isn't anything programmed in AC2, it doesn't do anything.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

AC2 cannot be removed once it is programmed. You can change it to a 4 digit number to make it difficult to access and you can remove all of the NPA,NXX,SPN,LOC,etc programming to make it non-functional if someone dials the four digit AC2.

If it must come out, then you must re-install from scratch.

I thought I read somewhere that ETAS can dial in and remove the AC2.

The AC1 or AC2 codes can be removed via "pdt". I've done this many times. As it's specialist knowledge, I can't (and won't) put out this detailed info on this or any other forum. A wrong move will cause major problems.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I appreciate your suggestions, the customer is looking to free up the digit he has programmed at AC2. We'll probably just burn a 4 digit DN and just change it.
Thanks again
