What is the difference in i 2004 phones. I bought 30 phones from a company Im not familar with but the price was right. Out of the thirty phones i have 3 differnt types
1) my favorite is a black phone with silver around the display buttons are English.
2) all black with buttons in english.
3) all black with the symbols on keys.
Is there any diference? Is one type older? Is one type for out of US? Whats the deal?

There are three types - phase 0,1,2. Phase 0 have a part number with EX in them. Phase 1 are something like NTB***72. Phase 2 are NTB***92 (I think those are close anyways).

Phase 2 (like your ones with the silver bezel) support POE without any splitters. Phase 0/1 need power splitters which vary depending on whether you are using Nortel or other manufacturers POE switches.

All will work on your system - phase 2 sets will support more features in the future.

My understanding is that there never have been any i2004 phones with a part# of "NTB..."
The Phase 0 phones were part#s "NTEX..."
The Phase I phones were part#2 "NTDU82...."

The Phase II phone were part# "NTDU92...."

You are correct. NTDU82 is phase 1, NTDU92 is phase 2.

Must have had a brain melt that day. Had I thought I would have looked at the back of the i2004 on my desk to verify....

What is the bezel? Is there any functional differnce or just cosmetic.

thanks

Just cosmetic. Nortel's trying to make the phones prettier.
