Hi there

I have a form containing hyperlinks to files on a network inside a secured Access 2002 database which eventhough have been inserted using Insert Hyperlink so addresses are correct throws an error message about address not being valid and subsequently the file is not opened.

However if I make the same hyperlink available in a non secured file it opens no problems. I am logging onto the secured database as an administrator but the links will still not work. Any ideas on what I need to set in the permissions to make this work or what might be causing the problem?

Thanks Sandra

Can you post the code for how you are trying to open the file?

Hi Page410

It is not code it is simply a hyperlink put onto a form via the Insert Hyperlink option from the standard menu. The hyperlinks work fine on a standalone version of the secured database but when it is put onto the network eventhough the user has network permissions to use the files that are hyperlinked and can open them no problem at all, the hyperlinks will not find them. Yet hyperlinks on a non secure database will work fine on the network. It seems to be a combination problem between network and database permissions which is disallowing the hyperlinks but I do not know how to fix this.
