Trying to click on a hyperlink in any application in Vista causes this error.

"This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer."

I am the administrator of this box.

Any ideas?

See if the Registry Fix mentioned in the XP article fixes the problem.

You receive an error message when you click a hyperlink in Outlook

Do you have the same problem in Safe Mode With Networking, or in Normal Mode, but as a different user?

Hyperlinks Do Not Work in Outlook Express or in Word

If you have System Restore points then using that may be an option.

You could try the System File Checker program.

How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program generates in Windows Vista

The registry fix in the XP article also works for Vista. If you don't have another computer from which to export the .reg file, email me at olc@shaw.ca and I will send you the .reg file that worked for me.
