Hyperlinks break when moving front end 1

I have a database with two front ends.

1st front end is with the back end and is used by me. I copy files to a directory (below the database) and then link them via a hyperlink. (Table is data type hyperlink, right click on form, select [hyperlink] [edit hyperlink] and [browse for file]. Browse always opens where the database resides and I click down a couple of directories and find the right file.

Front end 1 works always.

I created a second front end (copy and delete unwanted), with restricted access ~ tested, all OK, then moved it to the users area and relinked to the back end. Mostly OK but the hyperlinks do not work.

Error message: unable to open ????? ~ the link is obviously relative (from the database down) not actual.

When I open the table the visible link is relative but hovering the mouse over an entry shows the full (absolute) path.

How do I get the 2nd front end hyperlinks to default to the right path?

Don't have A2000 avaialbale at the moment, and I can't remember whether it has this setting.

With the database open, look at File>DatabaseProperties and see if at the bottom of the Summary tab you have a 'Hyperlink Base' option.
If so you need to enter the start position for the relative addresses that are stored in the hyperlink field.

Isn't it amazing what you know exists?

That is EXACTLY what I want, all works as expected.

Many thanks
