i need some help with hyperlinks. i have a table , and i created a new field , and i set the field type to hyperlink and in the table view i write doon lets say pic1 and i hyperlink it to a picture. when i try to make an access page , i use the wizzard and in the text box for the picture view fild , i only recive the hyperlink in words, thus not linked.

can anyone help me?

thank you

Hi Elie11:
I think hyperlink will not help you to get an image on a data access page.
Instead, I would open the data access page in design view and from the tool box either click on Image or Hotspot Image and follow the prompts.
Hope this helps.

thanks PPjoseph for the help, but the thing is i have a table and i want to use this table in an access page in the shape of a form to poste it on a server. and i need to scan and pdf some tickets and i want through the -form like wizard generated access page- to be able to view the the hyperlink colomn i created in the table. so that when the client navigates the form on the access page which is exteracted from the table, he/she will be able to click on the link in the view ticket text box and view the ticket.

any help will be appriciated
thanks

Quick question, Why do you want to do it in an access page? How about in a form which you could do it as a start up?

i want it in an access page cause i want to convert it to html and place on a web server.

I'm still thinking of a way. Is each pdf tied to a record in the table or would the user have an option to select any one of them off the screen by clicking on the hyperlink?

i was thinking of an access page that is created by the wizard and in the textbox where the hyperlink should show, which is extracted from the table, will enable me on click to view the hyperlinked pdf. i will store the pdf's or if it is easier , i will use bmp files in the table and then in some way set them as hyperlinks so that when i view the access page , a hyperlink to the image will appear in the view image textbox in teh access page.

thanks for the help

Try this and see if it falls within your idea:
Step I:
Create a new folder "Test"

Step II:
Make a copy of the db, just in case you do not like it in the end and place it in the folder "Test".

Step III:
Delete the pic1 field off the table.

Step IV:
Scan the pics as jpeg files and save it to the TEST folder. Jpeg files are smaller in size which means faster they will open

Step V:
Open a new access page using wizard and import the fields in the table.

Step VI:
While in the view mode of the data access page click on toolbox and click on hyperlink

Step VII:
Draw a box and click on BROWSE FOR "file"
Select the file from the TEST folder
In the box to the right of Text to Display type in "YOUR CAPTION"

Step IX:
Save and you should see your caption instead of the path of the file.

Double click on the caption it should open the picture.

If you do not like the idea we'll try BOUND HYPERLINK from the toolbox, I think it will link to each pic of the table.

Good Luck!!!

PPjoseph, thanks so much for the help, i appriciate it a lot.
