I have a Definity Prologix(G3csiV12) w/(3) CMC cabinets that are maxed to physical capacity. I would like to replace the C carrier with an SCC cabinet for additional physical space for DS1 cards and digital line cards.

My concerns are: (1)Is such a configuration feasible? (2)My current limits for total subscribed ports is 600 and voice terminals is 900. Does my current release (R012i.00.1.221.1) restrict me to that capacity or can I grow beyond that if I max out the SCC cabinet with DS1 and digital line cards?

Any reason you can't add another CMC cabinet? You can have a total of 5 per system. I would think the system is designed to only work with 10 circuit packs per cabinet, so who knows what would happen if you added an additional 8.

Keep in mind that the Prologix is intended for smaller installations. You keep adding to it, you can actually exceed its overall simultaneous call capacity.

signaldawg,

1. csi platform supports only cmc1 (officially) and g600 (unofficially) cabinets, so it's impossible to use scc one with csi.
2. this limitation is built into the software, you can't overcome it. the only way to increase capacity is upgrade to larger platform, s8400 or s8500 in your case.

It is true about your software limitations for the # of port that you can have, as well as the # of T-1's ,,but you can make a make a Hybrid system if you want,, I have put a J58890BB4 L4 port carrier (20 slot) out of a Tall MMC cabinet as an expansion cabinet on a 6.3 Prologic and it worked fine, so using a SCC should work,, also if you notice, when you go into change circuit card, your software on your Prologic lists out 16 programmable slots on cabinet A, and 20 programmable on B-E, so it is feasible make a hybrid out of any of there system, I have even had the processor and tone clock out of a Prologic working in a Port carrier of an MCC cabinet, you just need to know how the back plain works, OF COURSE AVAYA will tell you that is impossible
