Hunt Groups and forwarding 2

Have not been to site yet, new client so not sure on setup or versions.

Customer states this is how it worked before a crash:

CCR path 1 points to service
X222 rings, if no answer at 3 rings then X225 rings, if no answer at X225 it then went straight to X222's mailbox.

Is this possible be it using hunt groups or not and how?.
I am assuming HG's used as they state No Answer is to vmail in programming for all sets.

Now what happens is that its 9 rings in total until vmail answers, I thought this to be normal and presume it is setup something like this:

Each phone in own HG
Call rings 01 (3 rings)
01 overflows to 02 (3 rings)
02 overflows to 222 (3 rings) (how would I get it to go to mailbox 222 instead)

Somebody found how to get it to a mailbox but how?

That's straight call forwarding 222 CFNA/CFB to 225. No answer at 225 for forwarded calls will go to 222 mailbox. Calls direct to 225 will go to 225 mailbox.

Depending on the voicemail, it may be possible to use hunt groups:

CCR transfers to HG-A.
HG-A has member 222 and overflows to HG-B after 15 seconds (about 3 rings).
HG-B has member 225 and overflows to voicemail after 15 seconds (about 3 rings).
Mailbox 222 has HG-B DN assigned as an alternate extension.​

This scenario allows 222 and 225 to have their own mailbox. These sets can be forwarded to voicemail so that their unanswered calls end up in the proper mailbox.
 
CICS 6.1 has hunt groups and CP 2.0 supports alternate extensions. It would have worked.
