Hello all;

I'm reaching out to see if anyone has come across something similar.

I currently have the zero out set to go to reception. If the receptionist doesn't answer is there a way to return the call to the original voicemail.

Trying different variables, but nothing seems to be sticking, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

in a nutshell:
Call comes in to User A ---> Customer Zero's out to receptionist --> If receptionist doesn't answer return call to originally dialed VM (User A)

Thanks!

I just stick it in the leave mail action, works fine for me :)

Once opted out of a mailbox the original target is deleted.
You could build a call flow in the users "leave" start point were you have a menu with option 0 goes with a assisted transfer to receptionist, the timeout goes to the users mailbox and the timeout on the assisted transfer also goes to the users mailbox.
Don't use the breakout option!

I appreciate the input from you guys, thank you for that.

What I'm confused on is the users greeting, if I setup a call flow and use the menu as suggested, I would then need to put the users greeting in the entry prompt(of the menu), wouldn't I?

Maybe I'm not thinking hard enough about it, usually never takes this long to figure something like this out... again thank you guys for the patience.

I'm really not sure why my original idea is not working for you, it worked just fine on my setup.

I actually went back to that and tried it again. For some reason it doesn't push the Extension through to voicemail, it gets stuck at the menu with ????? - *97N/"LeaveVM",N(with no space between comma and N) but for some reason when hits VM it doesn't pick up on the digits the ,N is failing somewhere.

looking back at my shortcode, i had to put two , before the N to give it enough time, so it would be "LeaveVM",,N

Give that a shot.

That was it! That fixed the problem, again thank you guys so much for all the help. Wish I could buy you a beer... if you're near Colorado I'm more than happy to :)

Man, I love colorado. I used to teach at the old Avaya campus up there on Lucent Blvd. I want to move there some day, for some reason I like Golden, CO.

I know exactly where that's at.

Looking back at these old posts, I wish I had a chance to Meet Kyle Holladay.

Wish they allowed for private messages so I could give you my email in case you ever come back out here.

Just be aware assisted transfers hold up a VM channel for the duration it's ringing and in your case, obviously as it leaves the message after no answer, you need to account for this when considering how many concurrent calls you're likely to apply this to :)

I appreciate the heads up on that, we do have sufficient VM channels for each location so that shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks again for all the help guys.
