On IP Office R8.1, using Manager Version 10.1.

I've setup a Hunt Group, with Collective Call Waiting Ring Mode. Added 3 users in the Users List, of which are all enabled. Voicemail is turned on, with a 4 digit passcode set. Voicemail Answer Time is set to 20 seconds. When calling the Hunt Group extension and allowing it to go to voicemail, if it's an internal user/extension calling (with their voicemail initialized) it goes to where they can retrieve their own voicemail. If it's an outside line or a user/extension without their voicemail initialized, it goes to the general voicemail login/access point.

By "voicemail initialized" I mean, that user has dialed *17, logged into their voicemail and setup their greetings/etc. When I dial *17 and enter the Hunt Group extension and 4 digit voicemail passcode, it tells me "Login incorrect".

I'm assuming it's not going to the Hunt Group's voicemail because that voicemail has not been initialized yet.

Group voicemail isnt accessed via *17 you setup shortcodes for the group mailbox or use Visual voice.

The symptom you describe when calling the group points to the mailbox not being created on the vm pro when you created the group - usually best way to resolve this is to restart the voicemail.

I had tried creating a shortcode for the hunt group mailbox, with the same result. And, I have other hunt groups that we can access the mailbox by dialing *17.

So, you think if I restart the voicemail that will be resolved?

Firstly I would open VM Pro client and see if a mailbox for that group shows in the list of mailboxes.

Oh and the reason I say *17 isn't used for groups is because if you setup the default collect and leave points *17 automatically goes to the user who has dialled *17s mailbox.

You need to edit the *17 short code. take the U out of the tel number. you can also acess the vm by adding HXXX (where XXX = the name of the group) name to the user source number. then the users message lite will lite up when the group has a vm and they can check using visual voice.
