Has anyone tried to set up a hunt group with both queuing and an overflow group? When we tried it, the presence of the overflow group appears to override the queuing and go stright to that overflow. Our intention was to have callers enter the que when the users are busy, and then move into the overflow group if left in the que after 5 minutes. Possible?

From the manual!!

Overflow Time: Default = Blank
The Overflow Time is the amount of time (in seconds) a call will ring round the Extension List before being passed to the Overflow Group. If all the members in the extension list are busy, this is the amount of time the caller is held in the group queue before being passed to the Overflow Group. See Using Queuing

So it is possible but i think your settings are not good.

I would agree with what you say regarding the manual and what it states. However, the manual specifies the overflow time (which we have set to 300 sec) is used when determining how long a call is held in the que with regards to queuing, but is also used for overflow time when in regards to an overflow group. It seems to be used only for one or the other. Nowhere have we seen both queuing and overflows tried within the same group. As fow the calls being presented to the users, then we're talking about the allocated answer interval. If you try the setup, you'll see the conflict.

I don,t see the birds flying yet.

I made a huntgroup with Que on.
Also set overflow time to 300s.
When my stations are busy im going into the que and hear the que messages.
After 300s i go to the overflow huntgroup.

Maby im missing something what is the problem.
Did you put the 300s in the no answertime and not in the overflow time. If i do that then im getting your problem?

there was a problem with the overflow timer. I believe in 2.1.27. Fixed in 2.1.31. Which release are you currently using??

Arnoud

The version we are currently set on is 3.0(44). That in itself could be the problem.

In addition, the overflow time is set to the 300s. Big70, what version are you set to?

I,m using 3.0 (40) at home but i will upgrade tonight to 3.0 (44) and look if i get the problem.

Are you using a fresch database or is it upgraded from 2.1 to 3.0.

Greets Peter

Upgraded to 3.0(44) still works fine!!

Dang. It is a fresh copy of the system. I wonder what the problem is. We may have a bug in the system and may have to rebuild the groups altogether and see if the problem then repeats itself.

Thanks for the help Peter!

Save a copy of the config.
Make the system to defaults.
Program a Huntgroup and see if the problem is still there.

You can always shoot back the config.
