I am working with 9.1 IPO. I have VM Pro answering my ICR for the queue. One agent in the queue. When that agent can't take a call, then after 30 seconds it's to go to a general delivery hunt group mailbox that I have set up.
The HG has queuing and announcements. is this why it will not overflow to the general delivery mailbox? Before you say yes, I have another queue that overflows to a HG after 30 seconds so I know you can overflow it.
My general mailbox(es) work as I can press 1 out of the queue and leave messages so I don't think that's the issue.
My gen del mailbox HG is collective if that matters. Voicemail on.

Why use overflow?

Just set voicemail on and send to VM after 30 seconds for the first huntgroup.

calls to a hunt group take all of there settings from the Primary group.

the only setting that are effective when a group is called as an overflow are the users it rings & the ring mode.

if you want calls to multiple hunt groups to go to a single mailbox you will have to find another way (there are a number of solutions to this depending on software level & configuration) as you have VM Pro it should be easy to re-route the Leave message option to another mailbox

Janni-specific customer request-it's an odd one that's for sure. Won't that affect the queuing times?
IPGuru-yeah I played with it some more and cannot get it to behave the way I want so I believe you both are correct.

Sounds like I'll just have to tell him that it just works that way. Curious about the HG overflow timer and the queuing Janni, if you don't believe it will affect the que, then i'll try it.

Might not get what you wanna do.

If all you wanna do is to leave a voicemail after 30 seconds then I would just set VM on for the huntgroup.
If queueing is on it will queue until the Voicemail Answer Time expires.

Set voicemail answer time to 30 seconds for the first destination group.
Calls will cover to originating group box after 30 seconds.
If you want to redirect to a different box other than the group box then add a leave mail action to group.leave call flow.
You can then enter the box user name or extension number.

So CarGoSki you are saying to do the leave in the VM Pro and not worry about the overflow timer in the HG. I will try that but I'm totally curious as to why I can get the other HG's to overflow to other groups but not to a group mailbox. Thanks everyone as usual!

because by default the call will always go to the mailbox for the original destination

you have been told how this operation can be modified if necessary
