Ladies and gentlemen, this one stumped me.

I installed a MICS with 7.1 this weekend.

8 Pots lines, 15 phones, Flash 4 2.0.

There are 4 phones on the parts counter, so I put a HG on the 4 so that reception can transfer calls to the HG and all 4 phones will ring. I created a broadcast A&R HG that overflowed back to reception if no answer.

Here's the weird thing:
All documents I have read and all the HG I've installed over the years, have no line appearances and all affected lines assign in the HG in order to override xfer recall, CFNA/CFD and DRT settings. But here's the kicker, when the lines are assigned, they ring the HG in addition to reception which is the only DN that has the lines A&R on incoming calls. Remove the lines from HG assignment and they stop ringing the HG (except when transfered to the HG as expected).

Never seen this one before.

Not sure I follow, anyone today for that matter so must be me.

In HG programming stay away from it's line assignment section if only using HG's for purpose of transfer from human or ccr etc.

Use the HG Line Assignment section only for a dept that has their own lines.

To me that's all normal.

Well if it's normal then I just learned something, although I've not experienced it before. Maybe it's something new in 7.1 or I've never quite programmed a setup like this one before (hard to belive, but possible). I've never had lines ring direct to a HG before. Although if you think about it there is no other way to make a HG ring on incoming calls, you can't program a HG DN like at you can a telephone.
