Hi
An Avaya Phone engineer has added a hunt group forward feature which allows the main reception phone to forward the hunt group to an external number. they do it using the following button sequence:
Features
Group
Fall Back
There they can set the out of service number to an external number
in the IP Office Manager I can see the reception handset has the following settings set:
under menu programming tab
then under Hunt group tab
on the hunt group in question a 'check' is made in 'Can change service status' and 'Can change out of service group'
In the hunt group itself, under its 'fall back' tab you can see the external number set in 'out of service destination'.
if you Set the hunt group to out of service and it forwards to that number.
I have replicated the settings on another Avaya IP Office, however the configured handset only allows you to select internal hunt groups. I have checked in the system/telephony tab that 'inhibit off-switch forward/transfer' is unchecked.
If you set the 'out of service destination' in IP Office manager to an external number, for the hunt group, and then set it out of service it connects to the voicemail and not the external number.
Would anyone have any ideas on what might be happening?
