hung bpbkar32.exe on windows 2000 1

Outside of rebooting system does anyone have another way of solving hanging bpbkar32.exe processes.

I have had this problem on our IBM NAS 200s. McAfee and Norton needed exclusions of the NetBackup .exe's in them. Particularly bpbkar32.exe. Also, if you're doing snapshots on the backup client exclude those directories / volumes from backup. Hope this helps.

pieheto, does this suggest you run your virus checkers during the backup operation, or would this still apply perhaps if virus checking restarts at the end of a backup window, but bpbkar is still running on some jobs ?

The virus software runs without problem, but it ignores the bpbkar32.exe process. This is done on the backup client only.
