I using VMWARE ESX server with one RH 9 image installed so far. For whatever reason I can no longer reach it via the VMware management interface. I grepped service --status-all for httpd and it returned that the service had stopped. I tried restarting it to no avail. I actually went ahead and just rebooted the machine. I checked the boot messages during boot up and got all OKs. Would anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?

What version of ESX server?

How was the VM created? Which user, custom or root?

Do you have enough swap space configured on the ESX server?

Are there any configuration files under the /home/vmware directory?

use putty log into service console as root

df -lh

make sure partition / and partition /var are not 100% used

or httpd.vmware will not start
