I get an error as follows:
HTTP Error 404 : Directory or file not found.
This happens whenever I click on an e-mail address link on a job posting on Craigslist to reply to the job poster.
Additional info : The page cannot be found. The page you are looking for might have been removed , had its name changed or temporarily unavailable.
This has never happened before. Clicking on the e-mail address link used to take me to a login page for my "Hotmail". After login the hotmail page would appear which would have the "To" and "Subject" spaces already filled in as per job posters info.
The tech reps at ATT Worldnet do not have a clue when I asked for help. Could someone help me to resolve this problem? Thanks for an early response.

As someone who did worldnet support WAY back in the day... Yeah, that's a browser issue, not their problem. They support getting you connected and functional.

Okay. Let's start with what browser are you using? What version? Have you tried a different browser? Have you emptied your browser cache, cookies, history? Have you scanned for virus and spyware? There's a lot of info we need here...

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

I use Internet Explorer 6.0 and Mozilla Firefox . I always delete temporarary internet files, clear history, delete cookies frequently. I also run Spysweeper regularly before shutting down. Some days back I got 21 e-mails from people who are in the news which I did not open anyway as I suspected trouble (and probably spam). It was in the Hotmail mail box.

Check what eamil program IE is set to by clicking Tools menu - Internet Options and then click the Programs tab and see what the email program set to. Hotmail has recently changed and no longer allows you to use outlook to view mails. this could be a problem.
