htpasswd utility window will not open please help

i am fairly new at apache and when i click on the htpasswd utility in the bin folder the window flashes open the n shuts immidiatley. Am i doin somethin wrong? any help would be appriciated. thanks

You'll probably have to run it from the command prompt by typing htpasswd if the bin folder is included in your DOS path. If not, go to the bin directory and type htpasswd. That should work for you... although I'm assuming you're using windows, are you?
