Hi all,

Can anyone suggest a good Windows compatible program that can convert HTML format to RTF? Either a stand-alone utility or maybe part of an HTML editor. Thanx.

C'mon guys (gals) out of 8,226 members somebody must know of a good HTML to RTF converter?

why not add this in the first line of code on the page
<html dir=&quot;rtl&quot;> provide tools to let people become their best.

OK onpnt, I'll bite.
How is &quot;<html dir=&quot;rtl&quot;>&quot; supposed to convert an HTML document into a Rich Text Format document?

My bad I thought you were asking for RIGHT TO LEFT.
Trying to figure out why someone would want that.

Coffee Cup HTML editor can strip all the code from an HTML document to just leave the text which can then be copied and pasted into a word processor or even Windows Wordpad and then a bit of formatting added. It works really well and Coffee Cup is good, I use it all the time and it is not too expensive. You can download a free trial version from Joe Bananas' guide to Perth, Scotland
Bananas' tribute to Fawlty Towers!

Thank you Bananas. But I'm looking for an app that will do the conversion in a single step. Just import as HTML and export as RTF. :)

There is a nice program called TreePad Plus that will do that. It's a sort of PIM on steroids. But the conversion process is not all that accurate and the format can be off. Especially with tables.

You would think there would be a lot of apps around that were designed to do this kind of conversion. But if there are, I'm sure not having any luck at finding them. :( Any additional ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.

OK, thanks for trying.

Maybe it's best to put this thread to bed.

How about MS Word? it doesn't convert <br> to vbCrLf, so any text tha is longer than a cell will go beyond the cell boundary.

If you don't need perfection, this may be close enough.
