HTML Slice problem

I am new to fireworks and I am trying to use HTML slice to write plain text. I have navbar buttons on the left side of my web page and plain text on the right side. I get gaps between my buttons whenever I use paragraph breaks or ordered lists on my HTML text. HELP!

Open Dreamweaver and create a two column table. Export the navbar from Fireworks and import it into the left column of the table in Dreamweaver. Use the right column of the table for the text.

Fireworks is for creating Web graphics, It is not an HTML or WYSIWYG editor.
