I created a boolean variable pagenumber()>1. Then I created a conditional style on the block using the variable and set style visible to 'no'. Now, when I run the report in HTML format, it looks great, block IS on the first page and not on subsequent pages until page reset. BUT, when I run the report in PDF format, the conditioned block doesn't show up at all, not on the first page or any pages. Please HELP! and Thanks!

In my experience, IBM Cognos will not "support" nor troubleshoot output in PDF... short of telling you to rebuild it. I've run into several clients who wish to have very complicated formats, with tables to line objects up, etc... and all is welll until you export to PDF. The only way I've been able to find around this is to test every step of the way as you are building so that way you know when you've headed down a path where objects will start skewing.

Thank you kennedydottie. I did find out from Cognos Support that using pagenumber in a variable for PDF output is a known bug. When will it be fixed? Per them, about the other side of never.....
