Then I get this message,

I can not get into my bios,or safe mode just get the message continually in a loop.??? :-(

Yes I did mean NTLDR,
Tried to repair from installation CD,did not work,
also changed the battery,thought it mite be that.
I don't have a floppy drive on that machine.
thanks, will keep trying
Dave

wow, you really need a floppy drive for things like this!

even if you could get an external floppy drive you could make a bootable floppy disc by copying these files to a floppy, boot off it and then copy over the NTLDR to your C:\. Do you have Xp or w2k?

this is a boot.ini for XP, just copy it to notepad and save as boot.ini

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

FOr W2k

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

Copy these files form the xp disc to make a bootable floppy!

Ntldr
Ntdetect.com
Boot.ini

Thank you Linney,

This article was most helpful

I'm not sure if it was the update or not,its just
makes me suspicious that after all the boots and reboots
that i have done on this machine.
It only happened after that reboot.

Thanks again
