Hello,

If HSRP is configured on the FastEthernet 0/0 interface is this the only interface that active router use to send hello packets to the backup router ?

TIA

If it's the only interface with hsrp configured that goes to the other router then yes .

Currently I have 2 routers A (Primary) & B (Backup). Router A is in a seperate building to router B.

Both routers are linked via 100MG link and both are on the same network ie. 10.30.x.x.

There is also a serial connection from A & B to router C.

In the event that the 100MG link failed router B would become active since it cannot see multicast messages from Router A. How could this be avoided instead of manually shuting down one of the routers ?
