Hi

I'm just in the process of setting up my first ex5.5 server & was wondering how to forward a copy of anything addressed with hr@domain.co.uk to the 2 members of our HR dept. (this also goes for our sales team).

Many thanks in advance.

Barry

Make an additional recipient (HR) with SMTP mail address HR@domain.co.uk, give the other people their own mailboxes. Now go to the HR mailbox and set alternate recipients to the other two people. Don't select deliver to both, as no one will be emptying the HR mailbox and it would get full over time.

You can only have 1 alternate recipient for a mailbox in Exchange 5.5.
The simplest way to do this is to make a distribution list with a name you will recognize 'Human Resources' or 'Personell' etc, Then on the E-mail Addresses tab edit the SMTP address to show hr@domain.co.uk, you can also add other SMTP alias that people may use eg:

personell@domain.co.uk, human.resources@domain.co.uk etc,

Create individual mailboxes for the HR staff and add these to the DL.
You can hide the DL from the GAL if you do not want it to be used internally.

Chris,

Oops, my mistake, you are right of course, the DL is the way to go.
