hp4plus error52

I have an hp4plus with an error 52. I replaced the laser unit but the error still returns. Any other suggestions ?

There was a problem with the cables on som units, but usually it is the DC Controller that's the problem. Have you replaced that yet?

I replaced the dc controller board and the two cables between the laser unit and the dc controller. I'm going to send the laser unit back and see if it's defective because it sounds different just before the 52 code. Thanks for the reply.
