HP2225D : How to change print pitch?

I have a BK precision 5105 oscilloscope that has an RS232 serial port (DB25) on the back of the scope.
Connected to the latter port is a Thinkjet HP2225D (RS232 serial port)
The interface cable is very basic (4 wires)
FG, TD, RD, SG

FG & SG are straight thru to the other device (printer)
TD & RD swap between scope and printer; Transmit & Receive data etc...

The Scope is configured for RS232 output and the hp2225D thinkjet is set to receive data.

When i try to print using the scope command to the thinkjet the print will start and complete but it is only printing half the waveform data.
I believe i have to change the print pitch to be more condensed but cannot understand how this is performed without using a PC and software.
I tried a variety of DIP settings on the thinkjet along with pressing the Blue (top) button on the thinkjet for quality text but it will not condense (alter pitch) to fit the complete scope waveform on the typical 8X11 paper.

The HP2225D has DIP switches on the rear of the printer but their is none for print pitch, condensed text etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the printer has 4 fonts installed, normal, expanded, condensed and expanded condensed.

Y'know, that printer was introduced 22 years ago... What will you do when you run out of ink?

1st i thank you for the reply and the desire to help.

However, i cannot locate any dip switch in reference to: normal, expanded, condensed and ex-condensed?

On the rear of the thinkjet are two DIP switches, the 1st [bank A] is comprised of 8 switches (up/dn), next to the latter is another [bank B] comprised of 5 switches (up/dn).

Bank A details:

1. Carriage return & line feed: UP on / DN Carriage ret only.
2. Carriage return & line feed: UP on / DN Line feed only
3. Perforation skip mode: UP = 1 inch / DN = no skip
4. Page length: UP = 12 inches / DN = 11 inches
5. Control seq mode: UP = Ep MX80 0r MX 100 / DN = Hp mode
6. Character set
7. Character set
8. Character set

DN DN DN = Roman 8
UP DN DN = United ASCII
DN UP DN = Swedish
UP UP DN = IBM 8
DN DN UP = French

1. Handshake mode UP = DTR / DN = Xon/Xoff

Parity & word length is selectable:
Parity: none, even, odd, ones
Length: 8 or 7

Baud rate:

9600, 19200, 2400, 1200

Currently i have Bank A set as follows:
DIP 1 & 2 are UP the other 6 are DN.

Bank B is set a follows:

DIP 1 = Xon/Xoff
DIP 2 = even, Length 7
DIP 3, 4 = 9600 baud


Remember, the thinkjet is connected directly to the oscilloscope via an RS232 serial cable.
The page will print but it appears too expanded and will not fit the typical paper.
I cannot determine how to select condensed or any other variable in reference to pitch as you have listed.
Perhaps, you can review this post to determine what i can try.

Presently, i have tried: Roman 8, ASCII & IBM 8 Character set with no correction to pitch.

Please, respond if you know how to configure the DIP switches (Bank A & B) to obtain a pitch adjustment.

Replacement ink is easy to obtain (cartriage) and the small size is perfect!

Added note to above post: The printer is operating perfectly, the self test will prinn out a full page of text in all pitch modes that you have stated.

Could it be that to alter pitch modes would require the printer interfaced to a PC?
I remember a few printes in the past where one could select pitch direcly from the printer (manual switches) etc...
