I have an IPAQ 2210 with Pocket PC 2003 Build version 4.20.0 (14503). The problem I am having is that when I press the power button to switch it off all it does is dim the screen (as if the brightness has been set to 0). In addition to this when I next come to turn it on, it comes on but I can hardly see the screen and I have to go into the brightness levels (they had been set to 0). Am I doing something strange or is it the Ipaq?
Anyone any ideas - I'd much appreciate it.
Thanks

Do you have any third party apps installed that might control the backlight? Have you tried a hard reset to see if that changes anything?

if you hold down the power button for too long, this behavior is expected.

Thanks for the replies.

Glohamar - no I don't have any third part apps installed to control power or the backlight. The reset (or a hard reset) also doesn't seem to make a difference.

Chriseubank - Errr daft question... but you say it's expected behavoir - why?

Well, the power button has two different functions.

If you push it quickly, it will toggle the unit off and on.

If you hold the button down, it will toggle the backlight off and on.
