hp2200d printing extra pages

I have a software package on a server that has this printer doing work (reports) and every other page is blank.
Is this the printer setup or is the software package at fault?
I am looking for direction and a solution if possible.

AIX os on RS6000; Aspen Systems Software and HP 2200d laser jet.

We had a similar problem when printing Oracle reports (Oracle tends to put in line feeds whether you want them or not) I used the printer menu to set the printer not to print blank pages. On second thoghts I think the printer was a Lexmark but I have a feeling the HPs have similar features.

What type of files are you printing PDF, Postscript, or ASCII text?
