Hi;
I'm looking for a solution to telnet sessions are dropping the connection after about 25 minutes of no activity.

I haven't been able to find the proper command to see the status or to reset the telnet timeout.

Thanks

Check the TMOUT setting in /etc/profile

also check /etc/initd.conf, look for the line

telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/lbin/telnetd

you can set a timeout using -n (-n120) if it's set that's your problem.

see man telnetd for more info.

echo $TMOUT (in seconds) will show the timeout period.
TMOUT=0 will stop it

Hi grotongroup,
If not any of them your answer, check your firewall settings.Firewalls also able to stop connection with a timeout settiing.
