HP PSC 1350 Install Trouble

I have been trying to install one of these blasted things on a win 2k system for the past 2 days and each time I try I get a fatal error and it starts uninstalling itself.

I have tried it with the printer unplugged, plugged in, and also with deleting all HP software off the computer. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem would be?

Hey Sanity,
Have you ensured that the win2k system is completely up to date on service packs and patches? I've seen spyware cause weird problems like this so you might try running spybot and adaware to remove any rogue programs.
How are you connecting it? Have you checked for firmware updates also?
