Hello

I have a HP4200 laser network printer. The problem is when I print a job from Windows, printer prints fine (means one copy). But in (AIX,SUN,HP Unix) when I print anything it prints 5 copies. I think it has todo with IP or IPX but not sure where I need to go and check. Or I have to change some configuration for the printer in UNIX not sure though?

Any Suggestions ?

Also when I tried printing from DOS it prints 5 copies.

We had a Client with similar symptoms some time back, and discovered that the printer (internal configuration) was actually configured to print mulitple copies. The Windows PC's didn't exhibit the symptom because the Windows Driver probably sends specific PCL codes to specify number of copies.

Yes, Motoslide is probably right. Go through the config menu on the printer itself. Having the manual for the printer ready can be handy.

look for COPIES=NN ==> set it to COPIES=1

Perhaps this type of printer even has a built-in web server that you can use to (re)configure it.
