I am trying to install a Officejet onto a HP Vectra with W2K. I am using a USB 2.0 connection. This should be a plug n play installation but after I plug the USB cable to the HP in starts to run the install and then I get this error at the end "The name is already in use by either a service name or a service display name". Now, I took this printer to my Compaq Evo D510 and plugged the cable in and it installed right away. My Compaq also has the new 2.0 USB connection but the HP does not. Could this be the reason? Thanks

No, I don't think that's the problem. Try to run the latest software available (insure you remove the old one first) and reboot the system. Only connect the USB cable when the system asks for it.
