HP LJ3030 scanner driver issue

Hello,

Have a strange problem. I have been using HP lazerjet 3030 multifunction printer for a year on my Pavilion 1030n machine. No problems but this time when I tried to reinstall the printer driver from its CD the scanner won't work. The installation completes without any problem but the scanner driver somehow doesn't seem to install. I tied to reinstall, also used the scanfix utility provided by HP but no success. Can any one share any thoughts.

Did you try the printer driver from the HP site?
 
HP will have your software bundle for the combo... don't just get the driver or your scanner will not function through the software side, only form the manual panel

Thanks for the replies. Guys, I installed the driver package from the HP driver CD which came with the printer. Also, did try the updated package from HP website. Its not the printer driver that I am installing rather the whole printer driver suite....

exactly. your CD is out date and has been ont he shelf how long?> HP I bet has provided an updated version of you bundle on their website. Remove you CD's version and re-install with the webs version...

I tried that too. Infact they have two types of driver sets one PCL6 and one PCL5e(something). I uninstalled the CD bundle and installed the HP website new bundle (about 27MBs). Same issue.....They recognize that there are issues with the scanner driver as I see a scanfix utility on their website, which I tried as well but nothing.....

Hi

Haven't contacted them yet as they offer tech support only on weekdays for printers. I will contact then today and then if the problem is solved, let you guys know too.
