I had a 300 MHz single platter server, replaced it with a 1.0 GHz RAID 5 HP LC2000 with 128MB NetRaid

any idea why my new server would be slower than the old server?

Thanks

P4 processor *or* P3 Xeon? SCO 5.0.6?

If both are true, there is a recently released patch that corrected a problem with 5.0.6's thermal protection logic that resulted in improperly slowing down the processor speed to a crawl.

It's oss648a, and *requires* installing the rs506a suppliment 1st if it has not already been installed.

Find it at:

It is a P3 Intel Server

Has anyone had any experience with the
amirdmon file
/etc/amirdmon
may have something to do with that

Thanks

HI there,

Yes, I've had the same issue with amirdmon.
I moved it to amirdmon.sav and rebooted and now everything is fast. The MegaRaid controller has an alarm that goes off if a hard drive fails.
