Far left side of page is faded out. Have replaced fuser and adjusted print quality. Considering replacing transfer roller. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem, same printer. If you find anything out please let me know.

Let me state my problem : the bottoms of pages are faint. Which when the paper comes out of the printer is the left side of the printer.

I assume that you have already done this, but...

Have you taken out the toner cartridge and rocked it back and forth to re-distribute the toner?

I just tried that. Did not fix it. The user said last week they replaced the toner so that takes the toner assembly out of the equation.

What is the page count on the printer? HP recommends performing maintenance on the 5000 at about 150,000 pages. Part of the Maintenance Kit is the Transfer Roller, as well as the fuser, and several rollers. You can get this kit from any of the major vendors. The problem could also lie either in the laser/scanner, or the HVPS.

Sounds more like a Toner issue than transfer. Usually the transfer roller is the last resort. If fuser was not issue and you said someone just replaced toner. I wouold try one more cartridge, especially if they are remanufactured. Hopefully someone while trying to look more at the problem did not touch the transfer roller with bare hands. I've had many of these problems and it usually was just a defective toner. plus you may want to take the other guys advice about checking into the page count and doing a full maintenance kit. The steps to print quality are Toner, fuser laser/scanner and then transfer. Hope any of this helps.

Resolved the issue. Cleaned the Laser and mirrors. Thanks for all your support.
