My printer-scanner-copier is working fine; however, I find that I need to go into the settings in the Director to change something and the Director does not respond at all. I have tried clicking on it, right clicking and choosing 'open' and I also shut down my machine and rebooted. I get no error messages - it just simply won't open up so I can change some settings. I use XP operating system. I think I used the Director a month or so ago but not certain.
Thanks for any help.

What version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

Ahhh - I have now found that my problem was that I had installed IE7 last week. I have the work-around but am wondering if one needs to use it every time you need to use Director or if there is a way to make it "hold"

Thanks for replying smah.

I found I am having problems also simce installing IE7 I can not select the custom paper size. As I was able to print 5x7 photos I am unable to do this now. Hope HP come up with solution (not holding my breath as the age of the printer)for user of this printer.

Never give up never give in.

There are no short cuts to anything worth doing :)

I had the same with IE 7 and my 1317 all in one printer, HP resolved the issue however I have since gone back to IE 6 as it was causing problems in other prohrammes. I will stay away from IE7 until they get it sorted.

Since changing to IE7 the font looks like crap, but most of it fits on the page unlike IE6

assets, are you saying that installing IE7 changed the fonts that are printed?

It did for me, the quality of the font went down, and have not found out why yet.

Hi,

Just a brief message.

Anyone who is having problems with HP Director and Internet Explorer 7. HP has released a patch on their web site that fixes the problem.

All you need to do is go to the HP web site ( for your particular piece of hardware and download the ie7 patch.

Good Luck
