I have a Deskjet 970 cse that did a marvelous job in printing duplex when I first got it. A few months later, the paper jams after the first side is printed when the printer pulls the printed paper back in to reverse sides.

I've cleaned the rollers and paper paths thoroughly in the printer and in the duplexing unit. Still the paper jams.

I've noticed from HP's web site that the duplexor parts are no longer supplied.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this problem?

Thanks

Dale

Dale, I would ASSUME that the rollers have become hard. Try a bit of water on rollers to get them moist, if it works then they might be dried out. Just don't make em like they used to.
Tricks that I have used that worked for a while..... Mineral oil on rollers. (worked for a week) Or rubber cement. Spread a thin film on rollers while it is moving. Keep it moving till you think it is dry. Worked for a month. I have been unable to get rollers from the manufactures. Some thing about "no user replaceable parts".

Good luck

Thanks 1zman. I'll give it a try. I do think its the rollers because it seemed to be better after I cleaned them. I used a rubber roller cleaner that claims to revitalize rubber, but at best it just cleaned them better than alcohol. I did notice some tiny cracks in the rubber.

Again, thanks!
