I have a deskjet 720c connected by a parallel cable to a machine running xp home edition. the question is: I have created a file on my f drive that contains pictures and names of the pictures and I would like to print the names of the pictures without printing the pictures so I have a record of who the pictures are.Can anyone tell me how to do this??

I dont know of any command that will print the loist of files in a windows folder, directory, or drive. but
Depending on how many file names of pictures you have, you can do a screen print which will capture a picture of your current screen and the list of names.

Then you can open Word and paste the captured picture into the document. Then blow up the picture until you can read the file names followed by printing the word document.

But if you have a ton of pictures, make sure that when your viewing your file names to goto "View" and then "list"
This will help you place more items in the window.

You may have to capture mulitple screens to get your whole list. All you would have to do is scroll the page down until it is populated by different files names and then repeat the process.
