I'm having problems with my HP Deskjet 1000C printer. I have XP as an operating system. When printing a letter from word it doesn't print the bottom portion of some sentences. This doesn't happen every line, just randomly. When I go to properties and print a test page it comes out just fine. I'm a little confused. Has anyone ever had this problem before? If so, any suggestions?

have you checked to see if you're using a good bi-directional cable (parallel) or are you using USB for this? Also check HP site to make sure you have the latest driver for your printer. There may be more than one driver option (PS or not) so try both.

Eric: First know that I don't know much about all of this so please be patient with me :). The printer worked fine for quite a while so would that rule out the cable check? I only ask because I'm not sure of the difference. Next, I did go to their website and they don't offer a driver download for xp. Then it goes back to the situation that the printer was working fine before. Does that make sense?
